A Festive Holiday Gathering

Come join us for our Annual Holiday Concert.

Your children have been working very hard with Mr. Parshall and are eager to perform.

Parents, Grandparents and friends are all welcome to attend. Festive attire is encouraged.

Performance to be held on Tuesday, December 14th at 7:00pm. (Snow date Wednesday December 22nd)

There might even be a special guest.

Harvest Feast

The school district is having it's annual Harvest Feast! It will be held Thursday the 18th.

Please update your calendar. The Harvest Feast serving time has changed! It will now start at 11:30 am in the multi purpose room.

Families are invited to attend. Cost is $4.50 for adults and $2.25 for children. This is a great opportunity to have lunch with your children.

Craft Fair

The Pierce School PTO is hosting it's annual Craft Fair on Saturday, November 13th from 10:00-2:00 at Pierce School. Come and see crafters from all over the region, and visit our canteen for lunch while you're there. If you are interested in renting a table, Please contact Jackie Brown at 588-2921 for details and availability.

Ski and Ride!

Time is running out, sign up for the Ski and Ride program!

Students that want ski or snowboard lessons can sign up for our after school program. The first lesson will be in January, after the winter break, for five consecutive weeks.

Children will be released from school at 2pm for a 3pm lesson ending at 4pm. Children will be transported by private vehicles. Volunteers are needed for transportation (see Rhonda). This is not a school sponsored program. Parents should be prompt at 4pm for pick-up. There will be more information provided before lessons start. Extra applications may be picked-up in the office of Pierce School or at Trends of Fashion 46, Main Street Antrim. For those of you who have participated in the program it will remain basically the same and for those of you new to the program and may have questions or concerns please contact Rhonda Davie.

Fire Safety Assembly

There will be a fire safety assembly at 9:15 am on October 15th and parents are invited. After, the Bennington Fire Department is hosting Pierce School students to a tour of the Fire Safety Trailer at the Fire Station throughout the day.

NECAP TESTING

Third and fourth graders will be taking the New England Common Assessment Program on October 5th, 6th, and 7th as well as the 12th, 13th and 14th. The PTO will be providing our darlings with a brain snack at 8:45am each of those mornings. We have been working very hard to assist third and fourth graders with test taking skills. The best thing you can do at home as a parent is to make sure that your child gets a good nights rest. Give them a good breakfast and impress upon them that they need to do their best on the test. If you have any questions about the test please feel free to contact me (Mrs. Campbell).

Welcome to This Year's Blog!

I'm trying my hand at the blog again this year. This is the place to see what is up and happening at Pierce School. Also any changes that may be occuring. I've got several.

1. Mrs. Aborn is teaching fourth grade!
2. We have adopted a research based reading program- READING STREET
3. Our 2010-2011 School Improvement Plan was accepted by the state! I hope to have it on line a.s.a.p. You can currently stop by the office for a copy.
4. The school doors open at 8:30am.
5. Mr. Adams is our new custodian!
